Research interests
I work mainly on three areas of modern Spain: socio-political conflict; crisis of traditional liberalism vis-à-vis the formation of political class consciousness; and praetorian politics. All of them can be integrated into the broader subject of the short and medium-term causes of the Spanish Civil War and in the analysis of the troubled modernization of the Spanish state as a laboratory of socio-political upheaval within a European perspective.
