I am a third-year CSC-funded PhD student at the University of Bristol, working across the Departments of Music and History. My doctoral project focuses on studying Chinese hymns from the perspective of Sino-Western musical exchange, with a particular emphasis on the literary style of hymns in Fujian and those written in local languages. This research explores the contributions of Western missionaries to the translation and creation of Chinese hymns, as well as their broader cross-cultural significance.
