Research interests
Dr Wen Zhang is a Lecturer in Business Analytics. She obtained her PhD in Operations Research and Management Science from Warwick Business School. She has a broad interest in artificial intelligence (AI) and simulation. Her current research focuses on AI for social good (such as using natural language processing techniques to analyse CSR/ESG reports, legal documents, to generate insights for decision making effectively and efficiently), AI for professional service (such as the application in the insurance industry), and simulation optimisation (Bayesian optimisation, multiobjective optimisation and evolutionary algorithm). She is a recipient of the Warwick Business School Scholarship for PhD and the 2016 Winter simulation conference diversity award. She is a Fellow (D2) of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Prospective students with a solid background in operations research, statistics, and programming (such as Matlab, Python or R) and who are interested in simulation optimisation or AI for social good are welcome to enquire.
