Veronica Hope Hailey is the inaugural Dean of the University of Bristol Business School. Veronica was previously based at the University of Bath where she was Dean and University Vice President for 7 years until 2020, when she became Emeritus Professor. Veronica is mainly known for her research on Trust and Trustworthy Leadership. She published two reports during COVID featuring over 100 interviews with CEOs, CFOs, CMOs and HRDs on their experience of leading through the first 2 years of the pandemic. These reports – “Responsible Business in Crisis – rebuilding cultures of trust” (2020; 2021) were preceded by three similar reports on the Trust in the wake of the financial crisis. All reports were published with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). For the last 30 years Veronica has worked all over the world to deliver leadership development at the most senior levels in the private, public and third sector and is currently in demand as a public speaker on the areas of trust, trustworthiness, and organisational change. Veronica is Associate Faculty at the Forward Institute and has held trustee/NED roles on several boards. Also, as a mother of five daughters, and having been a senior leader herself, Veronica can’t help but champion the cause of women and leadership.
