Biography
Steven Proud is currently the Director of Undergraduate Studies and a Reader in Economics Education within the School of Economics at the University of Bristol.
Alongside this, he is part of the Executive Group of the Economics Network, and provides leadership and training for people who teach economics within the Higher Education sector. He is also an editor for the International Review of Economics Education, and of the Economic Review.
In 2019, Steven Proud was awarded the "Outstanding Contribution to Economics Education", a national award, presented biennially, by the Economics Network.
Research interests
Steven Proud's research considers the economics of education. His main areas of interest include the effect of a child's peer group on their academic outcomes and the stability of school quality measures in school league tables.
