Biography
Since my first role as a Bristol City Council Youth Worker in Knowle West, I have accumulated 25 years of experience across the voluntary and higher education sectors. Having run UWE Bristol's volunteer programme for 5 years and two accrediated Volunteer Centres in Bristol and Bath, volunteer management is a speciality. But, a senior manager, CEO and trustee, I have experienced most aspects of strategic leadership and operational management of not-for-profit organisations across several sectors including palliative care, community-led housing and voluntary sector infrastructure.
Today, my role at University of Bristol is about encouraging and supporting partnership working across the city. My duties include being Relationship Manager for Bristol City Council, coodinator of the Civic University Agreement Steering Group and convenor of the Social Justice Network. I represent the Univeristy on various boards, committees and working groups including Ecosystem Resilience Network, Impact Alliance, and Our City 2030.
I am also responsible for the development of a new project hosted by the University - Asking Bristol. Currently in development, this initiative will be powered by University of Bristol students and will connect small voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations with sources of much-needed support across the city.
