Research interests
I currently work as a Presessional Coordinator in the Centre for Academic and Language Development (CALD) jointly overseeing the presessional courses for postgraduate and undergraduate students and leading the presessional teaching team. During the academic year I teach undergraduate and postgraduate students on the Insessional programmes.
Prior to this, I was an International Foundation Programme (IFP) English for Academic purposes (EAP) Coordinator in CALD coordinating the IFP EAP units in the Centre. I taught on the EAP units on the IFP and jointly lead the EAP teaching team who taught on these units throughout the year.
My research interests lie in feedback literacy and assessent feedback looking particularly at how students can be encouraged to engage with feedback through dialogic feedback loops and more recently how emoticons can be used to encourage greater engagement with feedback as well as encouraging greater social presence in online teaching environments.
