Biography
I joined the University of Bristol in 2023 as Head of the Translational Research Hub (TRH) which provides bespoke support to researchers developing new medical interventions, and more broadly growing the translational research pipeline and income at UoB.
Before joining the TRH I was Chief of Staff at a successful diagnostic start-up which provided Sars-Cov-2 testing for the UK government.
I have a PhD in cell biology and spent my early career in industry at Syngenta, then AstraZeneca in oncology clinical development. I have since worked in a variety of fields and sectors, including managing research programmes and peer review for funders, and operational and strategic roles in the NHS and academia. Highlights include establishing a successful postgraduate training course on healthcare genomics for doctors in China, and helping to secure the funding for and setting up two multi million pound translational Centres of Excellence.
