I am a PhD researcher in English Literature at the University of Bristol and the University of Southampton under the supervision of Dr Michael Malay and Dr Megen De Bruin-Molé. My research looks at the intersection of monstrosity, bodies, and ecology, in particular how theories of ecofeminism and queer and weird ecology work together to produce ecomonsters and monstrous bodies that are nonhierarchical, relational and entangled. Although I focus on contemporary literature, my interests extend to other types of scientific, cultural, and imaginative production that uses monstrosity as a useful lens in creating better modes of kinship and care in ecological and narratological crises across species and ecosystems. My work therefore moves across the fields of Ecogothic, ecohorror, folk horror, the New Weird, new materialism and postcolonial ecofeminism. I work closely with the Centre of Environmental Humanities and one of the PGR representatives for the centre 2023-4.

I also am interested in projects and practices that recognise the need for community and activist impact, especially those with using creative and collaborative methodologies. I also work in various storytelling modes, including collage and fiction writing. My debut collection of short fiction, Curious Women and Other Creatures was published by Radical Bookshop in 2021.

Greenhouse Fellowship 2023 - University of Stavanger In November 2023, I will be conducting research on mushroom monstrosities and mycelial narrative in contemporary literature.
