Biography
Raeesah graduated from the University of York in 2012 and later completed a master’s degree in International Development from the University of Edinburgh in 2015. Raeesah started her career working in NGOs across Thailand and Cambodia advocating for the right to, and the improvement of, education.
In 2016 Raeesah started working in higher education. She has held roles at the University of Durham and the University of Bath across Widening Participation and Student Recruitment coordinating summer schools, schools and college liaison and evaluation strategy. Raeesah joined the University of Bristol in 2018 first within Widening Participation leading on the recruitment and engagement of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) students and now manages the Undergraduate Recruitment Events team who coordinate the University’s largest student recruitment events including open days, offer holder events, UCAS fairs and schools liaison.
Raeesah is currently the co-chair of the BAME staff network where she leads a committee to create opportunity and positive change for all BAME staff at the University.
