Biography
Nikhil Sapre is a Lecturer in Finance and Programme Director of the MSc Financial Technology programme at the University of Bristol Business School. Previously, he was a lecturer at Coventry University (4 years), where he also contributed to curriculum development and academic management in multiple roles. Prior to academia, his industry stints (6 years) include financial markets research and commercial banking in HSBC and ING.
He holds a PhD in Finance, Postgraduate Diploma in Research Methods and MSc in Finance and Accounting, all from the University of Bradford. He completed BA in Business Management from the University of Sunderland. Nikhil is Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), UK and also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice in Higher Education.
He holds a PhD in Finance, Postgraduate Diploma in Research Methods and MSc in Finance and Accounting, all from the University of Bradford. He completed BA in Business Management from the University of Sunderland. Research interests
My research is motivated by obstacles to and consequences of financial development. It is mainly empirical and policy-relevant, with an emphasis on banking, social finance and financial inclusion.

Teaching
Nikhil is the unit director of EFIM30054 Quantitative Methods for Finance 2 (UG 3) and ACFIM0004 Empirical Finance for Financial Technology (PG). He also acts as the supervisor for postgraduate dissertations.
In his earlier roles, he has taught across a range of topics in finance, led academic field trips, industry visits and delivered bespoke workshops. Where relevant, his teaching has incorporated real world applications and data through innovative methods such as collaborative online international learning projects.
