Research interests
She is currently pursuing her PhD in Sociology at the University of Bristol. Her research is focused on enquiring into the linkages between environmental injustice and the out-migration of rural Bangladeshi women to the urban areas of India. Her research interests include- feminist environmental justice, environment-induced migration, postcolonial and intersectional feminism, development studies and South Asian politics.
Before starting her doctoral studies, she worked as a Visiting Faculty at MRIIRS, India and conducted a wide range of courses related to Gender Studies, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Public Policy, International Relations and Indian Polity. Previously, she has worked with international think-tanks and NGOs on issues concerning gender-based violence, building post-disaster resilience amongst tribal communities, irregular migration and trafficking in the rural areas of India.
She completed her M.A in Women's Studies with a Distinction at the University of York, UK. She also has a Masters degree in Political Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India. During her undergraduate studies in Political Science at Presidency University, India, she was nominated as an exchange student to Sciences Po, France where she received a certificate on "International Affairs and Strategy".
