Biography
I have worked in the Higher Education Sector since the mid-1990s. Initially, I worked at the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) where I was part of the team managing the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE).
I then worked at Imperial College London, undertaking a range of Planning, Policy and Project Management roles before becoming Director of Strategic Planning in 2008. That Senior Management role had responsibility for a team covering four main areas:
Strategy, Planning and Resources: Including the development of the College Strategy, the annual planning, budgeting and resource allocation process, fee policy.
Management Information and Analytics: Including the development and implementation of the management information strategy, production of Key Performance Indicators and Dashboards.
Government and Policy: Lead contact with HEFCE, oversight of all HEFCE submissions and funding bids, access agreement development.
Programmes: Senior Responsible Owner for the REF submission, Lead for the INSPIRE Scheme (to address access and participation in science at university from under-represented groups), management information system development.
I relocated to Bristol in 2014 and joined the University as Faculty Manager (Arts) where I am the professional services lead for the Faculty and a member of the Faculty Senior Management Team with responsibility for professional services and for the delivery of operational plans.
