Biography
Maggie Boswell commenced her EAP career in Higher Education in 2003. She originally comes from a Business and Finance background having gained valuable international employment experience in Australia, Canada and Greece.
Throughout,she has cultivated evolved leadership skills and in drawing on her own experience of enculturation into higher education and life-long learning seeks not only to empower and inspire confidence in others, but also nurture erudition by exemplifying an articulate, scholarly approach to her students.
Throughout her career in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Education, she has accumulated wide ranging expertise and gained experience teaching across all ages and disciplines including designing and teaching bespoke CEO programmes as a Business English Trainer in an English for Business context both in London and Bath. She then became Academic Director at a UK based International College between 2011 and 2013, utilizing valuable managerial skills before commencing her employment here at the University of Bristol.
In addition to her EAP Tutor role at Bristol, she works in a free-lance capacity for Trinity College London and is on both the International ESOL examination board as well as being a Secured English Language Test (SELT) examiner. UKVI, home office).
In her spare time, Maggie actively participates in UoB CREATE seminars, Bristol Institute of Learning and Teaching (BILT) sessions and regularly attends Institute of Policy Research (IPR, Bath University) programmes, and is further involved in a number of personal projects including volunteering for Bath Preservation Trust.
Research interests - As a reflexive practitioner, her particular research interests are in the scholarship of learning and teaching.
