Biography
I teach on the University of Bristol MSc in Public Health and I co-chair the Faculty of Public Health's Academic Public Health Special Interest Group.
Research interests
Health Optimisation or Prehabilitation before elective surgery.
My doctoral research focused on the impact of NHS commissioning policies related to body mass index and smoking status thresholds ahead of elective hip or knee replacement surgery.
I am interested in the potential for chatbots to be used in new approaches to engage patients on surgical waiting lists with health improvement opportunities such as weight management support.
I am a public health doctor motivated to reduce health inequalities and improve the ways in which healthcare settings can address the wider determinants of health.
