Jennifer Collins is an Associate Professor in Law at the University of Bristol.  She holds a BA (First Class), BCL (Distinction) and DPhil from the University of Oxford.  She has taught at the Universities of Oxford and Bristol and was Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute in 2021-2023.

Dr Collins' main research interests are in the areas of criminal law and criminal theory, and the relationship between regulation and criminal law.  Her current research focuses on economic crime, fraud and regulation. She has published widely in criminal law doctrine and theory in leading Law journals, including the Modern Law Review, Law Quarterly Review and the Criminal Law Review.  She has also been a contributing editor to a book on the intersections between criminal law and employment law (Criminality at Work (OUP, 2020)).

Dr Collins is a member of the case-commentary team at the Criminal Law Review and of the Education Committee of the Criminal Bar Association.  She has held grants from the Arts and Humanities Research Council and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).  She regularly reviews for leading Law journals and is external examiner at City, University of London.

Dr Collins welcomes PhD applications in the areas of criminal law, criminal theory, regulation and European human rights law.
