My research focuses on the study of lipids preserved in archaeological pottery using compound-specific isotope analysis and radiocarbon dating to understand pottery use, diet and subsistence, and how these changed over time.
During my PhD, I investigated the transition to the Neolithic in Britain through lipid residue analyses and compound-scpeicific radiocarbon dating of absorbed lipids from the earliest pottery in Britain.
I am currently working with Dr. Mélanie Roffet-Salque investigating freshwater fish exploitation and its role in early farming communities in Central Europe.
