Biography
I have a wide and varied career history which has given me a broad range of experience and understanding. I started my working life as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, before studying for a degree in Applied Microbiology and then a PhD in the genetics of antibiotic resistance. I spent one year in laboratory based research before moving in to research coordination and management within both University and NHS settings. After several years in a hospital environment working on musculoskeletal research, and a career break during which I set up a children's entertainment/education business, I returned to the field of antimicrobial resistance and have been based at Bristol Veterinary School managing projects in this field since 2016.
Research interests
I am a Research Project Manager currently working on JITSUVAX: Jiu Jitsu with misinformation in the age of Covid. Previous projects include OH-DART, One Health Drivers of Antibacterial Resistance in Thailand, OH-STAR: One Health Selection and Transmission of Antimicrobial Resistance and COSHIBA: Cohort for Skeletal Health in Bristol and Avon.
