Research interests
My research is focused on alternative enterprises of the Solidarity Economy (SEE), especially cooperatives, and how they contribute to the resilience of local communities. As non-capitalist organisations they offer a counter-narrative to business as usual, showing that it is possible to thrive while caring for people and the planet. Furthermore, I’m interested in exploring what makes cooperatives resilient models, particularly during crises.
Inspired by the diverse economies approach, by Gibson-Graham, my research aims to inventory and describe the practices of SEE in Latin America, aiming to identify patterns of resilience. Additionally, giving visibility to non-capitalist practices that already exist and thrive, helps to decentralise the capitalist narrative in our society and allows space for new imaginaries in a post-capitalist economy.
