Biography
Following graduation from the anatomy course at Cardiff University, I worked towards my PhD at the Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh, investigating the transcriptional profile of early osteoarthritic tissues and using this to validate in vitro models of the disease.
On graduation, I moved south, working at an independent publishing company where I wrote educational materials for secondary students in biology and chemistry.
I then moved to the University of Bristol, taking up a post as a medical demonstrator before becoming a lecturer in anatomy at the School of Anatomy, with responsibility for teaching and supervision across a number of units and programmes delivered by the school.
I am heavily involved in outreach and public engagement, and co-ordinate the School's public engagement activities.

Teaching
I am the unit lead for the School of Anatomy's second year Anatomy by Dissection (ANAT20005) unit and the anatomy lead for the first year of the medicine programme, delivering the anatomy component of the Foundations of Medicine (MEDI10008) unit.
Beyond these, I contribute to the school's Research Concepts (ANAT30010), Methods, Communication and Translation (ANAT30003), Advanced Topics in Applied Anatomy (ANAT30008) and Functional and Clinical Anatomy II (ANAT30005) units, teaching science communication, core research skills and synovial joint biology, while also teaching on our Gateway to Health Sciences (medicine, dentistry and veterinary science) courses (ANAT10004 and ANAT10007).
I regularly supervise third year dissertation projects (ANAT30012) in my subject areas (public engagement with anatomy and osteoarthritis).
