I am currently working on Biomarkers as biogenic molecules that can be linked to particular taxa or biochemical processes on the basis of their recalcitrant chemical structure and/or their stable isotope signature. The focus of my work is on the discovery of new biomarkers and their application to soils and sedimentary deposits obtained from various geological, ancient and contemporaneous contexts. My work will involve a lipidomic approach to biomarker discovery.
