I study clusters of galaxies, which are the largest gravitationally bound objects in the Universe. In particular I use X-ray observations to measure the properties of the hot gas that fills galaxy clusters, and use that information to try to determine their masses.
The numbers and masses of galaxy clusters can tell us a great deal about the properties of our Universe, including the nature of the dark matter and energy that dominate the Universe.
