Biography
Originally as the PA to the Dean in Medicine & Dentistry back in 2003, Barb returned to the University in 2011 as a Research Project Administrator in the Mental Health Research Network, and then as a Project Administrator in Children of the 90s. Prior to her return, Barb worked in rehabilitation case management assisting people in their return to work or normal daily living activities following catastrophic injuries sustained in road traffic or workplace accidents.
From June 2015 until September 2021, Barb supported the activities of the High Performance Networks (HPN) Group within the Smart Internet Lab, Faculty of Engineering. One of these activities included being the Project Administrator for the £6m EPSRC-funded TOUCAN (TOwards Ultimate Convergence of All Networks) Programme Grant from June 2015 until its conclusion in December 2020. Barb also provided PA support to Prof Dimitra Simeonidou (Director, Smart Internet Lab/Co-director, Bristol Digital Futures Institute).
Currently, Barb is on secondment from the Bristol Innovations Partnerships Team in a new role as Business Continuity Officer in Srategic Projects & Transformation Management.
