Research interests
Anna is a qualitative health researcher and behaviour change specialist with research interests in chronic pain, adolescent health, psycho-oncology, and developing complex health interventions.
She completed a PhD in Psychology at the University of Southampton, specialising in the development of multidisciplinary and non-pharmacological pain management interventions for young people. This work reflects her primary interest in chronic musculoskeletal pain and related disorders. She works with UK charities to involve people with musculoskeletal disorders in her research.
Anna has expertise in sleep interventions, with experience in delivery and evaluation of CBT for insomnia. She has collaborated on interdisciplinary and international research, including the development of patient-reported outcome measures in collaboration with the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) and Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI).
At the University of Bristol, Anna is based in the Musculoskeletal Research Unit (MRU). Her current research uses qualitative and co-design methods to develop non-pharmacological interventions to improve chronic musculoskeletal pain. This includes psychological and behavioural co-interventions for people undergoing joint replacement, arthritis self-management, and multidisciplinary interventions for people with hypermobility disorders (HSD/hEDS).
