Biography
Research interests
Dr Angela Nobbs is an Associate Professor in Molecular Microbiology within Bristol Dental School. Her research interests cover three main themes: 1) Molecular mechanisms by which Streptococcus bacteria colonize and cause disease through interactions with host tissues and other members of the oral microbiota, such as the fungus Candida albicans; 2) Links between oral bacteria and systemic infections, with a particular focus on cardiovascular disease; 3) Development of novel antimicrobial biomaterials for use in healthcare and other settings.
