Research interests
Alisha joined the Centre for Academic Primary Care (CAPC), as PPIE Coordinator in September 2023. Her role is to support and advise researchers and help build their capacity to engage and involve the public in research.
Alisha draws on twenty years’ experience of supporting public influence in education, health and care services, and research decision-making. She has been a public involvement lead, worked in youth and community development, and undertaken research roles in the public, charity, and academic sectors.
Career highlights include:
- putting the voices of children and young people with cancer at the heart of decision-making through the creation of the UK-wide Voice programme at Young Lives vs Cancer.
- co-development, with members of the public, of the Public Involvement in Research Impact Toolkit(PIRIT).
Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement Ambitions:
To develop partnerships with the public so that diverse views and interests influence CAPC research and everyone can benefit from it.
