BRETTON HALL CAMPUS

Bretton Hall Campus is set in the renowned Yorkshire Sculpture Park.  Over 200 acres of historic landscape are used for the display of some of the best sculptures to be seen in Britain today by artists from around the world.  Attending an event on the Bretton Hall Campus brings you to one of the most beautiful campus sites in England.  Bretton Hall Campus combines the heritage of an English country house with up to date technology and facilities providing an ideal venue for residential summer schools and events.

The Bretton Hall Campus is currently home to the School of Performance and Cultural Industries, a School within the Faculty of Performance, Visual Art and Communications at the University of Leeds.

The School has a distinctive combination of discipline areas which enables it to offer ‘performance’ study in the fullest sense.  This includes the processes of the performer, the production team in theatre and dance, creative writing, cultural and arts development, management.  It aims to be a centre of excellence in teaching, research, consultancy and work based training.

Meals and refreshments have been arranged by your event organiser, please note that if you have any special dietary requirements please advise us when returning your booking form.

The accommodation comprises of three-storey hostels, most rooms are well equipped with washbasin, desk, wardrobe, drawers, chairs and coffee table. Landings of five rooms share bathroom facilities. Each landing has a kitchenette with microwave, fridge, toaster, and kettle. Tea and coffee are complimentary and are provided along with toiletries, towels and bed linen.  There is a coin operated laundrette on site, and an iron and ironing board are provided in each hostel.  Alternatively, if you would prefer to stay in a local hotel please request an accommodation list with your booking form.

TRAVEL AND DIRECTIONS

By Road: Bretton Hall Campus is located one mile from Junction 38 of the M1 via the A637Huddersfield Road into West Bretton village. Turn left onto Park Lane at the War                               Memorial which leads into the Campus grounds.

By Train: Bretton Hall is roughly equidistant from Barnsley and Wakefield stations with Wakefield Westgate being on the direct GNER  London route. Timetable information is available from National Rail Enquiries: 08457 484950.

By Taxi: From either station a Taxi will cost approximately £8.00. Wakefield cars is located close to Westgate station and can be booked by phone: 01924 362222.

By Bus: There is a bus service connecting Bretton Hall Campus with Barnsley, Denby Dale, Leeds and Wakefield for detailed information on service times and fares call Metroline: 0113 245 7676, or ask a member of the conference team for a timetable.

By Air: Bretton Hall Campus is approximately 45 minutes drive from Leeds Bradford Airport and approximately 75 minutes drive from Manchester Airport.
