Areas of expertise I graduated with distinction from Bristol University (2006) with an MSc in Nutrition, Physical Activity & Public Health. My dissertation looked at the effect of the Bristol University Staff Transport Plan on levels of walking and cycling amongst employees. I then worked as a Research Assistant on the Welsh Assembly-funded Free Breakfast Evaluation at Cardiff Institute of Society, Health & Ethics. This looked at how providing a free breakfast to schoolchildren influenced factors such as memory, concentration and behaviour.

I have now returned to the Department of Exercise, Nutrition and Health Sciences at Bristol University as the Project Co-ordinator of the Bristol 3Ps Project. This is a BHF-funded study investigating the role of friends and family on physical activity in 10-11 year old children. My research interests include social and environmental influences on diet and exercise in children and the role of active commuting in public health.
Media experience Appeared on BBC Points West at the opening of a commuting kitchen facility on the Knowle West estate, Bristol where I helped set-up and run a Healthy Eating stand (2006).
