| Areas of expertise | My research concerns the extent of poverty and social exclusion in the UK and the EU and the policies needed to tackle it. Addresing these questions involves considering who is most vulnerable to disadvantage, what are the causes of disadvantage, and how this impacts upon people's lives. My specific focus is upon situation of specific populations (young people, working age adults), and how disadvantage is manifested spatially, for example, in rural areas. |
