Dr. Elina Steinerte delivered a presentation, based on a co-authored paper with Prof Rachel Murray and Dr Judy Laing, on ‘Monitoring those deprived of their liberty in psychiatric and social care institutions: international and national practice’ during the Roundtable discussion ‘Evolving Standards in Preventing Torture and Ill- treatment against Persons with Disabilities’ which took place in Strasbourg, France on 4 November 2011. The event was organised by the Mental Disability Advocacy Center, the Human Rights Implementation Centre at Bristol University, and the Centre for Disability Law and Policy at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
