The University of Bristol Law Club, with the support of the Law School, welcomes Sir Terence Etherton, the Master of the Rolls, and our Patron for the 2019/2020 academic year to deliver our Annual Lecture.

Sir Etherton MR currently serves as the Master of the Rolls, the Head of Civil Justice, and is the second most senior judge in England and Wales. He previously served as Chancellor of the High Court, the head of the Chancery Division of the High Court of England and Wales between 2013 to 2016.

Make your way down to the Reception Room, Wills Memorial Building to join us for this special evening with one of the most notable figures in the legal world today.

Sir Etherton MR will give his lecture titled: “The Master of the Roles: a Medieval Office at the Heart of Modern Civil Justice.” He will speak on the government’s intentions to establish a Constitution, Democracy and Rights Commission and will further elucidate on the relationship between the judiciary and the government.
