The Right Hon Lord Wilson, Patron of the UBLC "Changes over the centuries in the financial consequences of divorce"
The Right Hon Lord Wilson
Reception Rooms, Wills Memorial Building
The UBLC and the Law School are privileged that Supreme Court Justice, The Right Hon Lord Wilson, has agreed to be the UBLC Patron and give the Patron's lecture on 'Changes over the centuries in the financial consequences of divorce' on Monday 20 March 2017.
This is a great honour for the Law School and the UBLC and it is hoped that every undergraduate and post-graduate student will attend. Your attendance and support is very important. It is a real honour to welcome a Supreme Court justice to Bristol Law School.
In 1967, after reading jurisprudence at Worcester College, Oxford, Lord Wilson was called to the Bar of England and Wales; and for the next 26 years, first as a junior and ultimately in silk, he practised almost exclusively in the field of family law.
From 1993 until 2005 he was a judge of the Family Division of the High Court. From 2005 until May 2011 he was a judge of the Court of Appeal.
In May 2011 he became a Justice of The Supreme Court.
The evening shall begin with a drinks reception in the Wills Memorial Reception Rooms at 5pm, followed by the lecture at 5:30pm prompt. You will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the lecture.
Professor Michael Ford QC (Employment QC of 2016) will host the evening.
Please ensure to register for a ticket as there is limited availability.
