The Centre for Crime, Law and Society (CCLAS) is a centre of excellence and collaboration in the complex interface between crime, law and society. Uniting internationally recognised expertise and wide-ranging methodological approaches, the Centre promotes, scholarly innovation and inspirational teaching.

The Centre for Crime, Law and Society (CCLAS) hosts a dynamic mix of world-class scholars based in the law school whose wide-ranging work focuses on the pressing legal, social and policy questions arising from the interface between crime, law and society.

The Centre fosters scholarly and teaching excellence by providing a stimulating and inclusive hub for collaboration and interdisciplinary dialogue relating to the broad areas within its remit. It also stands as a platform to disseminate work and creates opportunities to engage with the wider legal community, including, practitioners and policymakers, and with community groups including charitable organisations and NGOs, and many of our Centre members regularly engage with a broad range of external stakeholders.
