Open Seminar: Spatiotemporal signal propagation in complex networks

9 October 2024, 2.00 PM - 9 October 2024, 3.00 PM

Bristol Next Generation Visiting Research Dr Chittaranjan Hens, International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIITH), India.

Room SM1, Ada Lovelace Building, University Walk BS8 1TW

Bristol Next Generation Visiting Researcher Dr Chittaranjan Hens is an Assistant Professor in the Center for Computational Natural Sciences and Bioinformatics (CCNSB) at the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIITH), India. Dr Hens is visiting Bristol to collaborate with Professor Luca Giuggioli on the project Disease propagation in complex networks: a biased random walk approach.

Abstract for seminar:

Recent advances in network theory enables us to study the interplay between the topological structure and the intrinsic dynamic states of all nodes. The seminar discusses how to track the spatiotemporal patterns of propagation of information, such as the spreading of diseases, the response to a genetic perturbation.

Audience: Open to all members of the University of Bristol community and the public
