Bayesian Unknown Change-Point Models to Investigate Immediacy in Single Case Experimental Designs
Abstract
Single case experimental designs (SCEDs) are widely used to test the effects of interventions/treatments in education, psychology, and medicine (as n-of-1 designs). Although immediacy is one of the necessary criteria to show strong evidence of a causal relation in SCEDs, no inferential statistical tool is currently used to demonstrate it. In this talk I will demonstrate two Bayesian unknown change-point models to investigate and quantify immediacy in two phase and multiphase SCED analysis. Results of 2 statistical simulation studies and application to real data will also be discussed.
