MRC New Unit Funding Model Community Webinar

11 October 2022, 2.00 PM - 11 October 2022, 3.30 PM

online

Building on the recommendations of MRC’s 2020 review of Units and Centres, the MRC are changing their approach to unit and centre funding. The new challenge-led approach will focus on distinct, disruptive, or interdisciplinary activity with the potential to achieve success within 10 to 15 years. Investments will be outward facing, fostering collaborative research and providing a stimulating environment to train the next generation of researchers and technologists. Further information can be found here: https://www.ukri.org/news/mrc-to-change-approach-to-unit-and-centre-funding/.

This webinar provides an opportunity to brief the community on the key features of the new funding model, and for attendees to ask questions. You can submit your questions in advance when registering for the event, or you can send them directly to units@mrc.ukri.org. Questions submitted less than a week before the event (after 4th October) may not be used to shape the content of the webinar, but there will be a further Q&A session during the event.

Please note that this webinar will focus on answering questions for potential new investments on the features of the funding model and the themes for 2022. A separate webinar for those within our existing Units focusing on the transition will be arranged, registration details for this will follow shortly.

This webinar will be recorded. Please contact units@mrc.ukri.org to receive the link after the event.
