MRC application advice webinar

The webinar will include talks from:

  • MRC Programme Managers (an overview of MRC, its remit and priorities, how MRC handles applications, and advice for applicants)
  • UoB staff with experience of MRC Boards and Panels (how applications are discussed at MRC Boards/Panels, how MRC differs from other funders they have sat on panels for, and hints and tips on what makes applications stand out and what mistakes to avoid in applications to MRC)
  • A recent successful MRC awardee (their experience of the application process and their advice to other applicants)

The webinar will end with a time of Q&A. Individual discussion slots will also be available with the MRC Programme Managers – see below.

MRC programme managers representing Molecular and Cell Medicine and have offered 10 mins to individuals as 1:1 slots to discuss specific queries about individual projects; these are taking place 15.30 - 17.00 and need to be booked in advance. MRC programme managers are asking for those booking a 1:1 slot to send through a copy of their CV plus a 1-page max summary of the proposal so that they can consider, in advance, issues about eligibility and remit.  

During the talk MRC are happy to discuss the types of applications they can submit as well as strategic activities of interest, such as the Multimodal Research Across Scales call.
