Merit Pay Scheme

This scheme replaces all existing procedures and mechanisms for Additional Service payments and took effect from 1 May 2013. It is additional to, and separate from, the Discretionary Point Scheme available on Grades K and L.

  • The scheme is available to those who have successfully delivered a one-off task or project that would not normally form part of their role or have contributed significantly in some other way that would not normally be expected of their role, and for which there will not be a continuing requirement.
  • Decisions on awards will be made by the Dean / Faculty Manager / Divisional Head twice a year, to aid consistency.
