Great Bristol Spring Clean

Bristol Waste Company supported the University of Bristol to take part in the Great Bristol Spring Clean; part of a national week of litter picks organised by Keep Britain Tidy.

The Students' Union and Sustainability team led a student litter picking event on Wednesday 7 March.

The student volunteers tackled litter in the city centre surrounding St Nicholas Market and Redcliffe, helping to clean up one of the busiest areas of the city. They collected 22 bags of rubbish in total.

It was a great opportunity to meet new people, gain some volunteering experience and help make Bristol a cleaner and greener city.

One student commented: 'It was a good opportunity to clean the city center and see how often people just throw the litter on the floor, it was enlightening!"
