When trying to make sense of global politics, Cynthia Enloe encourages us to ask two "simple" questions: Where are the women? What work is gender doing? 

  

This roundtable explores the ongoing crisis in Ukraine from a gender perspective. From women's visible absence at the peace talks, to the impact of the conflict on women refugees, and the militarisation of Ukrainian masculinity. 

   

We will also examine the silence around UNSCR 1325 and the Women, Peace and Security Agenda. Thus, opening a space for a wider reflection about the role of international organisations ensuring gender issues are not forgotten in the context of crisis and armed conflict.
