Gender

We aim to raise the profile of gender-related research

The Gender research group in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law brings together academics interested in scholarship on gender, broadly conceived.

The group supports events and collaborative activities that raise the profile of gender-related research within the Faculty.

We welcome a range of methodological and conceptual approaches to the study of:

  • sex
  • sexuality
  • gender
  • feminism
  • feminist theory

We organise networking events, guest lectures, workshops, reading groups and other research activities for staff and postgraduates.

Our activities complement the work of the School for Policy Studies’ Centre for Gender and Violence Research and the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies’ Gender Research Centre.

Looking to join us?

We welcome staff and postgraduate students from across the Faculty and the wider University.
