Address: Fenswood Farm, Bristol, Wild Country Ln, Long Ashton, Bristol BS41 9EB
Fenswood Farm, located just a short 15-minute drive from the University Main Campus in Long Ashton, opens its doors to a world of scientific exploration and agricultural innovation. With just under 100 hectares of expansive agricultural land and associated facilities, the farm serves as a hub for both Agricultural and Horticultural research and development.
Our modern building and glasshouse complex provides a dynamic environment for scientific inquiry. Researchers have access to a range of facilities, including glasshouses, laboratory space, and controlled environment units. The farm's primary focus is on scientific research, with a particular emphasis on environmental initiatives. We strive to contribute to a sustainable future through our dedicated efforts in research and development.
The farm's arable land is actively and commercially farmed, a typical rotation of 1st and 2nd winter wheat followed by spring oats. Additionally, over 15 hectares of grass ley are available for livestock grazing. Its own reservoir and 8 hectares of mixed woodland create a balanced and diverse landscape.
The strategic location of Fenswood Farm ensures convenience, with good access roads, ample car parking, and within cycling distance of the Main Campus. Whether you're a researcher, student or member of staff, Fenswood Farm welcomes you to explore the intersection of science and agriculture, making strides towards a sustainable and environmentally conscious future.
