Alan has overall management of External Estates, including design, safety and financial responsibilities for three main service provisions: Gardens and Grounds, Fenswood Farm and the Botanic Garden.
Alan also has two core responsibilities for the University: biodiversity (including BREEAM and ecological reports) and University approved directional signs (including University adopted signs, e.g. no smoking and emergency assembly points).
Alan also has a key role in the Historic Buildings and Gardens Conservation Group, which aims to formulate, guide and effect University policy on the preservation and care of its buildings of special architectural and historic interest.

James is responsible for the mobile grounds teams that operate throughout the University Estate and is responsible for scheduling all aspects of grounds maintenance, grass cutting, hard surface maintenance, external wall maintenance and liaising with contractors.

Kevin is responsible for the horticultural teams who work within the University Estate, this includes one mobile team and several teams based within different areas of the Estate. Kevin is responsible for scheduling all aspects of garden maintenance, arboriculture, new landscaping/planting and liaising with contractors.

Andrew manages the site at Fenswood Farm, overseeing the use of the glasshouse and controlled environment facilities for scientific research. Andrew also has responsibility for extensive agricultural land at Fenswood Farm, used for field trials and commercial crop production.

Jonathan is responsible for the Gardens and Grounds team who work within the University Estate at Langford House, North Somerset. Many aspects of horticultural and grounds maintenance are undertaken, including, hedge cutting/pruning, shrub bed maintenance, leaf clearance, lawn maintenance, hard and soft landscaping projects and minor arboricultural work.

Nicolette is the office administrator for External Estates, providing confidential, efficient, effective and professional administrative/secretarial support to the External Estates Manager and departmental staff for Gardens and Grounds, Fenswood Farm and the Botanic Garden. In addition, Nicolette manages the Linnaeus study room bookings.
