12 April 2017
Dr Edward Holberton has received a British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship to work on his project 'Literature and Transatlantic Exchange in the British Atlantic World 1640-1750'. The fellowship will fund a year of research leave in 2017-2018, during which Ed will work on his forthcoming monograph, Literature and Transatlantic Exchange in the British Atlantic World 1640-1750, as well as two journal articles, a public lecture, and other public engagement activities. His research investigates transatlantic literary exchanges in the early modern period, with a focus on writers in Britain, and in the Anglophone colonies in America and the Caribbean. The project includes archival research in Harvard University Library and the American Antiquarian Society, Massachusetts. The Department sends its warmest congratulations to Ed on his fellowship award for this programme of fascinating and engaging research activities.
