UNDT recent engagement activities

The UNDT group is famous for promoting engagement activities with different types of audiences and public. We proud ourselves to be present in most of the impottant festivals celebrating science in the UK and internationally and have recently participated in

The British Science Festival  – We demonstrated ‘orca-stra’ and played the call of orcas in a pool using an underwater speaker. People found the calls very relaxing, and enjoyed the feeling of swimming with orcas in a safe environment. We also demonstrated how to make a vortex ring under water like dolphins, with nothing other than an empty plastic bottle. The vortex ring generation was a huge success and people enjoyed watching and making the vortex ring of their own.

Bristol FUTURES – The UNDT group collaborated with BIG group at the University of Bristol, and did ‘Magic Or Technology?’ stand at the Bristol FUTURES. We demonstrated our research such as ultrasonic NDT, acoustic levitation, and patterning in the form of magic. Bristol FUTURES was a two day event at We the Curious, and part f the European Night of Culture. A wide range of audience from school children, families and researchers visited our stand to enjoy and learn the research conducted at the UNDT and BIG group.
