The Mathematical and Computational Biology research group (MCB) is constantly striving to advance the development of mathematical and computational modelling of biological systems. Our aim is to provide valuable insight into the design and control of these complex multiscale systems.

The MCB group works on applications of mathematical modelling, non-linear dynamics, control theory, bioinformatics, and numerical analysis to address problems arising in biology, life and health sciences. We work at the interface of theory and experiment, and many of our researchers are skilled in both computational and laboratory methods. We also have an extensive complementary network of interdisciplinary collaborations, across the university and beyond.

The MCB has its own dedicated laboratory facilities, which together with the collaboration of other research groups strengthens and nourish our research in all different areas.
