At the Graduate School of Education from 16-18 November, Dr Guoxing Yu, Senior Lecturer, chaired the 32nd annual Language Testing Forum (LTF), the premier language testing conference in the UK.

At the Graduate School of Education from 16-18 November, Dr Guoxing Yu, Senior Lecturer, chaired the 32nd annual Language Testing Forum (LTF), the premier language testing conference in the UK. Over 60 researchers participated from universities and language testing organisations in Australia, China, Japan, Sweden, Turkey, UK and USA including the event sponsors, British Council, Cambridge ESOL, Pearson, Trinity College London, and Oxford University Press.

Highlights were the invited opening lecture on technology-enhanced assessment by the Graduate School’s Professor Patricia Broadfoot (16 November) and the closing lecture on standards and assessment by Professor Barry O’Sullivan, British Council (18 November).

The Graduate School of Education has an excellent track record in research and training in language testing. The 20th LTF chaired by Professor Pauline Rea-Dickins was also hosted at the Graduate School. Research project funders include ESRC, DFID, ESRC/DFID, British Academy, British Council, Educational Testing Service (Princeton, USA), European Commission, and SSHRC (Canada).
