The School of Economics offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and has an outstanding reputation for teaching and research. We welcome international students from over 120 countries across the world, creating a vibrant and diverse study experience.

Language requirements
If English is not your first language you will need a language qualification to be accepted onto our courses. Find out what language qualifications and scores we accept (IELTS, TOEFL).
The University has a Language Centre with summer courses in English Language to prepare you for both postgraduate and undergraduate study. They will help improve your English before courses start in September/October. Find out more information about our pre-sessional language courses.
We also run a one-year long International Foundation Programme to prepare you for your chosen undergraduate degree.
Support during your degree
We understand that the transition to an English-speaking university can be challenging. Throughout your degree we can support you with your academic English, academic literacy and critical development.
Scholarships and funding
Some international undergraduate students are funded by scholarships, some fund themselves. The University of Bristol offers a range of international scholarship opportunities that could help fund your studies.
There is some funding available for postgraduate taught programmes.
There are also some potential sources of funding for postgraduate research programmes and your PhD supervisor may be able to provide advice on what options are available.
Accommodation

Students' Union
The student union at Bristol offers more than 400 clubs and societies, one of the largest amounts of any SU in the UK. No matter what your hobbies and interests are, there's plenty to get involved in and opportunities to meet new friends.

The Global Lounge is a central hub for all students, home and international, to get together through social events and cultural celebrations, providing the chance to meet new friends, share experiences and explore the global opportunties available at Bristol.
