Throughout the year we race in a number of events against other universities around the country. We compete in Giant Slalom, Slalom, Team Slalom and Boarder-X. Bristol are current University champions as well as winners of Kings, our local dryslope racing league.

Competitions:
Kings: A dryslope league held locally against Swansea, Bath, UWE, Exeter and Plymouth. Winning teams are invited to the national finals held in May. Great for first time racers and pros alike, Kings is always great for some friendly inter-uni banter. As the evening goes on the racing inevitably turns into the usual snowsports cider-fest!

BUDs (7th/8th November): No words can describe the BUDs experience....but fuck it I'll try! We road trip it to the dryslope haven of Hillend just outside Edinburgh with of course a few bevvies to get the festivities going. The event is based around being spectator friendly with bars, DJs and food all on location. In the evening we go to City Nightclub in Edinburgh with the other 1500 students for a classic BUSC night of drinking and debauchery. The following evening is the infamous BUDs ball - a black tie event like no other which can only be described with one word....messy! This is a fantastic opportunity if you want to get involved in the "full snowsports experience." Friendships have been made and dignity lost (ask Ed) by all involved. And did I mention there was some racing involved...we've got the full range of disciplines as well as big-air and slopestyle for freestylers. Places are very limited and usually fill up fast.

BUISC & Ski 2 Help (20th Febuary & 5th March): The first part of this consists of a southern qualifier held at Milton Keynes. This one-day event is held in a similar format to BUDs. As well as the full racing and freestyle program, the banter is of course priceless as usual. Individuals and teams can qualify for the BUISC Final which is held in conjunction with Ski 2 Help: a charity fundraiser, where each university competes to raise the most money.

BUSC Main Event (28th March - 4th April): One of the largest snowsports events in the world, Main Event is a must for any snowsports enthusiast. Running in conjunction with over 50 universities' Easter trip and taking around 2500 students it's bound to be the least memorable weekend of your life thanks to excessive Jaberbomb consumption! Unbeatable apres ski, world famous DJs and a full racing and freestyle program makes this perfect for every club member. As well as being with your Bristol friends you'll also see all the familiar faces from the year's inter-uni events.

Training:
As the professional cider-fuelled athletes that we are, training is taken super seriously! We do trips to Gloucester where a race-coach is on hand to help out and give pointers. Everything is pretty relaxed with emphasis on involvement. Our more experienced racers are always on hand to give tips and pointers when needed.
