Dr Sophie Turnbull

Dr. Sophie Turnbull is a Research Fellow at the Bristol Medical School (PHS) at the University of Bristol, where she specialises in the development and evaluation of behavior change interventions aimed at preventing and treating chronic conditions and addressing health inequalities. Her work incorporates mixed methods research, blending evidence-based behavior change methodologies across healthcare settings, public health projects, and industry collaborations.
With a robust academic foundation in psychology and neuropsychology, Dr. Turnbull completed her PhD on the impact of digital health interventions on health inequalities in chronic conditions. Her research is dedicated to enhancing health outcomes across diverse populations by leveraging digital solutions and innovative approaches.
Currently, Dr. Turnbull is a Research Fellow on the TRUUD study, developing a novel intervention designed to increase the prioritisation of health and health inequalities by professionals working in the private sector of urban development sector. This systems-based project seeks to confront the underlying determinants of chronic health issues and disparities hat are linked to the urban environment
